Returning to yourself

The biggest pitfalls often do not stem from other people.
They arise when we begin to lose sight of ourselves.

Many people spend years searching for answers outside themselves, without realising that they are drifting further and further away from who they really are.
Not suddenly.
But slowly.
Quietly.
Unnoticed.

That is precisely why it is important to take an honest look at ourselves time and again.
Not to judge ourselves – but to gain a deeper understanding of who we are.

How can I tell if I’m losing myself?
It often starts with you feeling empty inside, even though on the surface everything seems to be going well.
You drift away from your own needs, suppress your feelings and simply go through the motions for others.
You can hardly feel what’s really good for you or what you actually want for yourself.

A person rarely loses themselves overnight.
They lose themselves step by step – whenever they stop listening to themselves.

How can I recognise conformity?
Conformity often manifests itself when people hold back their own truth in order to fit in or avoid conflict.
You say ‘yes’ even though you feel ‘no’.
You behave the way others expect you to.
You try not to disappoint anyone if at all possible.

But constant conformity takes you further and further away from your own identity.
Because if you’re constantly just going through the motions, you’ll eventually lose touch with who you really are.

Why am I constantly seeking validation?
Many people seek validation from external sources because they do not truly feel their own worth deep down.
They hope for recognition, praise or approval so that they can perceive themselves more positively.

But as long as your worth depends on other people’s opinions, you will never be truly free inside.

True inner stability only arises when you begin to recognise your own worth – regardless of whether others validate you or not.

Why do I find it difficult to set boundaries?
Setting boundaries does not mean being harsh or selfish.
It means self-respect.

Many people are afraid of disappointing others or being rejected.
That’s why they say ‘yes’, even though their inner voice has long since said ‘no’.

But those who never set boundaries often lose their strength, their clarity and their self-respect.

Healthy boundaries not only protect your energy – they also protect your dignity.

Why do I make myself seem smaller than others?
Many people underestimate themselves because they are constantly comparing themselves to others.
They see other people’s strengths – but not their own.

Often, this stems from a fear of not being good enough or of not deserving a place in life.

Yet every person possesses their own abilities, experiences and inherent worth.
Making yourself small helps nobody.
It only prevents you from recognising your own light.

Why do I often feel that I’m not good enough?
The feeling of not being good enough has been with many people since childhood.
It often stems from criticism, rejection or the feeling that one has to earn love.

Over time, this becomes an ingrained pattern.

But nobody has to be perfect to be valuable.
And nobody has to prove themselves first in order to deserve love or respect.

True self-worth begins when you stop constantly fighting against yourself.

Why do I value other people more than I value myself?
Many people admire others whilst barely noticing themselves.
They recognise the beauty, strength or abilities of other people – but in doing so, they overlook their own worth.

Sometimes they even believe that others are more entitled to happiness, success or love than they are.

But true growth begins the moment you realise:
You are no less valuable than other people.

You don’t have to make yourself smaller to be lovable.
And you don’t have to lose yourself to fit in.

Back to yourself
Perhaps the greatest task in life is not to become someone else.
But rather to find the courage to return fully to yourself.

True spirituality does not separate you from life.
It leads you deeper into yourself.

It reminds you:
You are allowed to feel.
You are allowed to grow.
You are allowed to set boundaries.
You are allowed to be seen.
You are allowed to be successful.
And you are allowed to take yourself seriously.

Because life often begins precisely where
a person stops
abandoning themselves.
